About the same time he started churning out the 3-in-1 plectrum, Günter Dick began thinking about making a pick in the standard shape. He deviated slightly from the original design and gave his standards a rounder, stubbier tip. This made them louder sound-wise than their competition.

Hardly anyone took notice of that benefit, and thus only collector's have acknowledged the spadework these picks are. It also makes them willing to pay a lot of money for the old originals.

As with the 3-in-1, the Standards are available in three different nylons.
