It doesn't matter if you use true bypass or not, you're always going to experience a certain amount of signal loss due to the amount of cables and connectors a signal has to pass through on a pedal board. HarNorth have a very simple solution which solves this problem quite elegantly ? simply eliminate the cable and make a double-ended connector. Both capacitance and resistance can be lowered to a wonderfully low amount by joining two identically constructed connectors without anything between them. As if that's not enough, the pedal connectors are (thinly) plated with 18 ct gold. These connectors offer the best way to connect pedals without signal loss. HarNorth Pedal Connectors are available in two different models ? a straight connector and a z-shaped connector which rectifies any differences in size between two pedals.
Everybody knows gold is a nice material with excellent properties, however the plating does not last for eternity. Using gold-plated connectors isn't a problem if they're used in a studio, at home or anywhere else where they're basically sitting around on a pedal board. However, if you're regularly setting up a pedal board and reconnecting pedals, or a touring artist who has to arrange his set-up each evening or a few times a month, then the nickel-plated connectors are for you. The nickel-plated HarNorth Connectors are plated with several layers of nickel on top and are copper-plated underneath. The tips are none the less gold-plated.
