Do the tortoise shell thing quite well. It's probably impossible to make picks which nail the sound and features of tortoise shell one to one, but these come quite close. What's certainly good about mock tortoise shell picks is that they last longer, not to mention that an endangered species isn't cruelly slaughtered en masse. Apart from lasting long, the picks also look nice and feature a slightly convex surface. Each pick is colored differently, with colors ranging from opaque yellow to nearly black. Be warned ? the edges are not rounded. Either they have to be worn down by using them or filed into shape. MP-20. Rounded Triangle Somewhat unsymmetrical, but they feel good grip-wise. Heavy. Size: 34mm wide, 32mm long. MP-22. Dawg-Form. Just a wee bit unsymmetrical, just like the rounded triangle. The broad tip makes the sound loud and big. Heavy. Size: 31mm wide, 30mm long. MP-24. The Nick Lucas Pick Very unsymmetrical. Nick Lucas was the first endorser of the standard Fender shape. The standard shape always was a bit different from the it's modern shape, back then. The cutting dies weren't standardized in the good old days and new ones made by having a look at the old ones and visual judgement. Golden Gate claims that the size of their MP-24 is identical to the original standard. Heavy. Size: 26mm wide, 32mm long.
