Echtes Ebonit
We have no idea how many vintage ebonite picks are still around. We know a collector based in Tokyo who has some and a studio guy in New York who have some. Both would probably rather sell their next of kin than part with one of their picks....
Genuine ebonite picks are the most sought after picks, next to unused real tortoise shell plecs. The plecs we were fortuanate enough to lay our hands on are probably even better. In any case, they're a lot faster. Above all, the sound is more precise, cleaner and detailed.
What's so special about vintage ebonite picks? Why are people so crazy about them once they've used them?
For one thing it's probably knowing that there are never going to be picks made like these, ever. The knowledge how to make such picks has gone lost, just like nobody anymore knows how Les Paul's were built back in 1958.
The most important question however is what really sets them apart from modern day plectrums, apart from value and rarity? The answer is quite simple ? it's the way the feel, namely just right. No hissing or scratching in any part of the sound, nor distracting pick noise. Vintage ebonite conveys harmonics and overtones properly, with a fast attack.
The simply fulfill the needs of perfect tone:
- Perfect pitch
- Perfect timing
- Perfect tone
Ebonite ensures that each note develops itself in respect to those three requisites ? completely without effects, or other means. Just like playing single notes on a grand piano.
Echtes Ebonit Gerades Dreieck The straight triangles we have are shaped in a smaller size and measure 30mm
by 30mm. This sort of small triangle shape seems to have nearly been forgotten
over the years. The size may vary, due to shrinking. These picks are only
available as medium gauged plectrums (about 0.7mm thick). However, they do play
more like medium-heavy plectrums, due to their age.Details... ab: 9,90 € |
