Das Kultmittel für Gitarre UND für Saiten! Die Sensation war perfekt: Vintage-Gitarren-Mann John Duck wollte ein Mittel, das Saiten etwas verjüngt; heraus kam sowas wie ein Universalreiniger: EIN Mittel reinigt nahezu alles!
Kein Witz: Nachdem der Gitarrist Saiten und Griffbrett mit ein und demselben Zeug abgeputzt hatte, gab er die Flasche dem Saxophonisten. Und die alte Tröte glänzte wie seit Jahren nicht mehr. Der gute Dr. Duck hat es mit Saiten zu tun. Der Handschweiß auf den dünnen Drähten ist so ziemlich die größte Herausforderung für jeden Chemiker. Als er das gemeistert hatte und ein gute Saitenputzmittel entwickelt hatte, hatte er unverschämtes Glück: Das Zeug reinigte und pflegte nicht nur Saiten, sondern nahezu alles, was an der Gitarre dran ist! Und was man sonst so auf einer Bühne in Schuß halten sollte. Denn schließlich sind Musiker selten Putzfrauen. Entweder geht die ganze Gitarre schnell und einfach mit nur einem Mittel, oder man läßt die Klampfe vor sich hingammeln. Und ärgert sich dann hinterher, daß man das Instrument beim besten Willen nicht mehr mit "mint condition" bezeichnen kann. Dr. Duck behauptet, es sei für das "ganze" Instrument: Griffbrett, Saiten, Kopf, Korpus, Schlagbrett, Pickups. Natürlich auch Mechaniken, und andere Metallteile. Gut, das ist nicht unbedingt unsere Vorstellung von der perfekten Pflege, aber wenn es schnell gehen muß, ist es ganz ok, jedenfalls solange man sparsam damit umgeht. Und solange man die Wachs-Schichten mit dem richtigen Mittel zwischendurch mal wieder abbaut. Natürlich kein blödes Spray, die Ozonschicht ist auch John Duck ein Anliegen.
