Awe in One

Picks from Singapore are quite a novelty. The city state is known for producing quite a lot of things; except picks. Awe-in-One has changed that.

Ammie Ng and John Leong don't just make any normal mass market kind of pick, but an innovative range of plectrums which feature some quite interesting solutions.

The Awe in One picks can probably be seen of as a spin-off of Herdim's 3-in-1 pick, which was designed by the German plectrum pioneer Günter Dick. The name Awe-in-One also does make the impression of sounding quite similar to 3-in-1.

Even if the Awe-in-One picks were maybe modelled on the the Herdim 3-in-1, they're not plain copies of the original, but feature well considered enhancements in comparison to the old design. Whilst they share a raised thumbgrip and three edges with different strengths with the 3-in-1, their shape and design is an original product of the 21st century.

The way the thumbgrip has been integrated into the pick body, for instance, is a completely new design feature. Awe-in-One's thin picks can feature a depression as a thumbgrip because of this. Such a design has been reserved for ultrafat jazz picks up until now.
